GBS tops regional round and qualifies for the final at AIMS 2018
I’m and extremely thrilled and excited to share the amazing news of Globsyn Business School topping the regional round of AIMS CONSCIOUS CAPITALISM SIMULATION COMPETITION 2018. Our team will be competing against IMT-Ghaziabad in the finals.
The Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) hosted the 30th AIMS Annual Management Education Convention in collaboration with the Academy of Indian Marketing (AIM) and NJOY Learning Processes Pvt. Ltd. which featured a simulation competition for 2nd year MBA/PGDM students of AIM and AIMS member institutions from the four regions of India. The competition comprised of 2 rounds, namely, the Regional and the National Round. The Regional Round consisted of 6 quarters where student teams of six members each, experienced the Conscious Capitalism® simulation, designed by the global publisher of online learning solutions, Marketplace Simulations. The competition is composed of a regional round and a final round. The regional rounds took place online from July 30th – August 4th, 2018 between students from the North, South, East, and West of India. Now, the Finals will be held between the Top 2 teams at Bangalore from August 28th to September 1st, 2018.
The Conscious Capitalism simulation tested the competitors’ ability to maintain a business in today’s environmental and social climate. Each team member experienced what it takes to create both customer value and profitability, all while satisfying the community and maintaining the environment. In this competition, we learnt important skills necessarily needed to be a conscious capitalist. We also learnt to balance the needs of customers, employees, shareholders, suppliers, and the community while working as a team.
The success of our team is credited to the team members – represented by Debanjana Deb Biswas, Arnab Chattaraj, Ribhu Chattopadhyay, Saswati Mukherjee, Ria Bhattacharjee and Anand Kr. Dubey – who showed great camaraderie and finesse of mind under the careful mentoring of our faculty, Dr. Debraj Datta. The team is now looking forward to compete at the National Level that will comprise of another 2 quarters by representing Globsyn Business School from the Eastern Region.
