BIKRAM DASGUPTA, Managing Trustee
An alumnus of Harvard Business School and IIT Kharagpur, Mr. Bikram Dasgupta is an entrepreneur of repute – a man with a vision. An innovator, thinker and a passionate speaker, Bikram was among the core group of professionals who joined HCL in its infancy and his contributions, as one of the key Market Development Managers, have gone a long way in establishing the market presence that HCL commands today. A passionate, out-of-the-box thinker, who strongly believes in ‘ordinary people can do extraordinary things…‘ wetted his formative entrepreneurial zeal by helping build Pertech Computers Limited (PCL), in 1984. As the Promoter-Director, he steered the company through the initial difficult years and took a leading role in managing a diverse set of functions ranging from Sales & Marketing, to International Business Development and new strategic projects, elevating the company to the position of the No.1 PC manufacturer in India.
With the fast changing IT landscape Bikram Dasgupta foresaw the need for a business model built around the fundamental concepts of Infrastructure and Institution to service the knowledge economy and in 1997 conceptualised Globsyn as a group of companies, which embodied that vision. On the institution building front, it has been Mr. Dasgupta’s lifelong zeal to develop young minds to enable them to face the challenges of the modern workplace and be productive from day one. It is in this mission that he conceptualised and pioneered the Globsyn Knowledge Finishing School™ System which bridges the growing gap between academics and industry through industry relevant programmes in a world class infrastructural setting. This, early innovator approach and concept, found expression through Globsyn Software Finishing School (GSFS) programmes at TECHNOCAMPUS in 1997, the then IBM Center for Excellence. Today under Mr. Dasgupta’s tutelage Globsyn has a faculty team teaching over 42 different management areas, in his B-School, addressing and training engineers in over 50 technology domains through the Finishing School system and addressing multiple domains in Business Process training, coupled with Human Excellence programmes in Behavioral Sciences, Voice & Accent, and other critical areas through Globsyn Skills. This huge repertoire of multidimensional training and teaching capability, facilitated by over 100 teaching professionals, is a unique and the first ever Campus of such integrated learning on Alternative Education in India.

Mrs. Dasgupta brings to the Board her sharp insights on the people front. An avid contributor to the growth story of Globsyn she has been associated as a Director with several companies, since the last 10 years, and has played a vital role in their management.
RAHUL DASGUPTA, Trustee
An alumnus of Durham Business School, UK, Rahul has also participated in Executive Senior Management Programmes from IIM – Ahmedabad and Wharton Business School.
Currently the Managing Director of Globsyn Skills, Rahul leads the group’s Skills business and also spearheads the marketing and business functions for the group’s Education business.
A 2nd generation entrepreneur, Rahul is extremely passionate about education and skill development of youth in the country and has played an important role in under laying the need for various stakeholders to come together to make skill development a truly holistic and socio-economic exercise – one that reaches out to large sections of society.
Rahul has been instrumental in guiding and growing Globsyn Group’s Education (GBS) and Skills businesses. Globsyn Skills (a JV company with NSDC) is a social enterprise, which today, in a short span of a little over 3 years, has expanded its footprint across India. Globsyn Skills today works with the central government, various state governments, educational organizations and private sector companies and has trained over to 70,000 youth across several sectors comprising of Banking, Insurance, Telecom, Retail, Security, Beauty & Wellness, Hospitality and Plumbing among others.
Rahul has been the brains behind creating Globsyn Skills’ unique ‘Partner eco-system framework’ and has built a robust services delivery chain comprising over 500 centres, spread across 20 states with a large ‘on call’ pool of 400+ trainers and faculty members. Rahul envisages growing Globsyn Skills to a 2,000 centre operation and training over 200,000 youth over the next 3 years.
Rahul has been the chief architect behind Globsyn’s innovative Management Apprenticeship Programme and leads the industry-academia integration to change the way management education is delivered in the country.
Rahul has had a successful industry stint prior to joining Globsyn and has worked for Fortune 500 companies like Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc and Deloitte & Touche and was also a part of the latter’s special committee team sent to India to set-up their Forensic Practice. Rahul has recently been awarded the “Young Entrepreneur Award” in the field of education by the “Indian Achievers Foundation” at the National Seminar on best CSR Practices held in New Delhi.
ROMIT DASGUPTA, Trustee
Currently the Joint Managing Director of Globsyn Group, Romit has brought in a fresh breath of energy into the operations at Globsyn Business School (GBS) – Globsyn’s education vertical that he spearheads. Incepted in 2002, with a 2000+ strong alumni base, Romit has played a pivotal role in piloting GBS to be among the top 3 business schools in Eastern India, with its new fully residential campus slated to cater to a pan-India student base apart from attracting students from Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka etc. It is under Romit’s leadership that GBS has emerged among the most technology-savvy Business Schools in India.
Romit also looks after the Corporate Finance and Strategic Investment functions of the Group and has been instrumental in bringing in fiscal discipline into the system.
Romit has been a speaker at various seminars and forums including TiE, Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and the House of Commons (UK). His team building and people skills have seen him taking up leadership position in several youth organizations. Recently, Romit served as the Chairman of CII-Young Indians (Kolkata,India), the Youth wing of Confederation of Indian Industries, the largest Industry body in India.
Romit has done his MBA from Imperial College London, London UK, and Masters in Family Business Management from SP Jain Institute of Management & Research. Romit completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Syracuse University, USA.
