The purpose of the National Scholarship Program framework is to establish a structured and transparent mechanism for the Institution’s scholarship scheme, covering the grant, administration, continuation, review and withdrawal of scholarships. The framework is intended to ensure that scholarship programs are administered consistently and in accordance with the Institution’s academic, financial and governance requirements.
OBJECTIVE
The National Scholarship Program intended to promote equitable access to quality education by providing financial assistance to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and to recognise and award students who have demonstrated distinction in sports, culture or the arts at the State or National level. The program further aims to ensure that the selection, continuation and withdrawal of scholarships are undertaken in a consistent, transparent and merit-based manner, in accordance with the Institution’s admission regulations, fee rules and code of conduct.
SCOPE & APPLICABILITY
This Scholarship Program applies to all students currently enrolled in the Institution who apply for or granted a scholarship under this framework, including the Bikram Dasgupta Foundation Scholarship, the Outstanding Achievers Scholarship and any other scholarship programs that may be introduced by the Institution from time to time. This framework shall remain in force until amended, replaced or withdrawn by the Institution and governed by the Scholarship Policy of the Institution.
ELIGIBILITY
Students satisfying the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Institute, from time to time, may apply for scholarship support in the manner prescribed under this framework, within the stipulated timelines. The submission of an application and selection for interview shall not, by itself, guarantee or entitle the applicant to the grant of a scholarship.
