In an era dominated by rapid technological advancements, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into our daily lives has become inevitable. It has emerged as the most potent development in the history of our civilization.

AI has the capacity to provide solutions for intractable situations of human distress, to allow commercialization of ideas which were earlier unimaginable, and also to lend itself as a tool for unethical exploits. However, to ensure that there is a harmonious coexistence between humanity and technology, it is essential to anchor this integration in basic human values. By weaving the foundation of technology with basic human values, such as, Ethics, Sustainability, and Governance (ESG), we can pave the way for a future that thrives on synergistic collaboration.

Education emerges as a fulcrum in this paradigm shift. By incorporating AI literacy into educational curricula, societies can empower individuals to navigate the complexities of this technological landscape. Recognizing this global phenomena, the International Vision Seminar 2024 was dedicated to the theme: ‘Embracing AI for Humanity’, where the emphasis was on the potential of AI to amplify human capacities rather than replace them
.

The future hinges on a delicate balance between technological progress and human values – and to ensure this it is imperative for technology to align with ESG goals. Simultaneously, humans must actively embrace technology, steering its evolution in a direction that upholds our shared values and promotes a harmonious coexistence with the environment and society. The Seminar sought to learn how aligning basic human values with AI can create a framework that will prioritize the well-being of individuals and communities.

This Seminar also highlighted some aspects of AI, which are of immediate relevance to Academicians, Corporate, Research Scholars, Government Officials, NGOs, Social Workers, Students, and Public in general so that appropriate deliberations may lead to the greater good and prosperity of humanity along with the development of universal human values in organizations and leaders.

More Information…

The workshop for International Vision Seminar 2024 was on ‘Application of Artificial Intelligence for Business Enhancement: Perspectives and Implementations’.

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in business is an important part of the corporate life. Yet, a major percentage of the working class are either not aware or not fully aware of the potential of AI for the ease of business. The hands-on workshop by the experts was to train the corporate, academicians and larger public about how AI can be used in business without much hassle. The key take-away catered around how AI can be used to ease the daily businesses with certain tools and knowledge that will enable the participants to utilize AI in organizations.

Apart from the Inaugural and Valedictory sessions, the International Vision Seminar 2024 proceedings consisted of the following session-wise sub-themes:

(i) Utilization of Artificial Intelligence in Human Progression

In the human civilization, one of the most contemporary changes is the development of Artificial Intelligence. Our cognitive abilities, however, are one aspect of humanity that technology hasn’t yet had a substantial impact on. The progression of civilization based on Artificial Intelligence can be on multiple fronts including those in agriculture, public health, gender violence, markets, health care, technology, safety, disability care and public governance.  In fact, deployment of AI can be mapped against each one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. If AI is appropriately utilized, it can create enormous benefit to human progression.

(ii) Role of Universal Human Values in the World of Artificial Intelligence

Human values can be defined as what humans would prefer their life to be worthwhile for or what people think would be important in their life. The concept of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) focuses on concurrently building of a software program that can solve a range of complicated problems in multiple areas that can operate independently of human interventions and have its own thoughts, anxieties, feelings, strengths, and weaknesses. Issues related to spirituality, crime, consumer values, social value, ethical issues need to be considered in all areas of application, thereby providing richness and variety of the human experience of values.
