Arkadeep Ganguly, PGPM – IB, Batch 2022-24, Globsyn Business School, writes about his Summer Internship experience at Jubilant FoodWorks Limited where he learnt the value of collaboration and teamwork; got exposure to the corporate domain through workshops, training sessions and hands-on assignments; and experienced the real-life application of knowledge acquired during his management journey at one of the best B-schools in Kolkata.
Stepping into the corporate world can be both exhilarating and daunting for any young professional. As an intern at Jubilant FoodWorks, one of the leading food service companies, I embarked on a transformative journey, immersing myself in the fast-paced and dynamic environment of the organization. In this article, I will share my experiences, challenges and feelings as I navigate through my internship, along with the preparations that paved the way for this exciting opportunity.
Preparation for the Corporate World
Before commencing my internship at Jubilant FoodWorks, I dedicated considerable time and effort to prepare myself for the corporate world. I focused on developing my interpersonal and communication skills, researching the company’s background and understanding its core values and objectives. Additionally, I polished my technical abilities and familiarized myself with industry trends, ensuring I could contribute effectively during my internship.
First Impressions and Onboarding
As I walked through the doors of Jubilant FoodWorks on my first day, a mix of excitement and nervousness coursed through me. The warm welcome from the HR team and my fellow interns helped ease my apprehensions, creating a supportive environment. The onboarding process was meticulously organized, introducing us to the company’s culture, departments, and expectations.
Collaboration and Teamwork
One of the most significant lessons I learned during my internship was the value of collaboration and teamwork. In a corporate setting, projects often require multiple perspectives, skills, and expertise. Working alongside talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, I witnessed the power of collective effort in achieving organizational goals. The constant exchange of ideas and knowledge within teams fostered an atmosphere of creativity and innovation.
Learning and Skill Development
Jubilant FoodWorks provided a plethora of learning opportunities, enabling interns to expand their skill sets and gain industry-specific knowledge. The guidance and mentorship I received from experienced professionals further fuelled my growth and instilled confidence in my capabilities.
Challenges and Adaptability
The corporate world presents numerous challenges that push interns to step out of their comfort zones. Adapting to a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines, and juggling multiple responsibilities required me to be agile and resilient. While these challenges initially seemed overwhelming, they ultimately served as valuable learning experiences, sharpening my time management and organizational skills.
Networking and Professional Development
Another crucial aspect of my internship journey was networking and professional development. Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to contribute to real-world projects that made a tangible impact on the organization. Whether it was conducting market research, creating marketing strategies, or analyzing customer feedback, I witnessed the direct correlation between my efforts and the company’s success. These experiences instilled in me a sense of purpose and motivation to excel in the corporate world.

The first touch of the corporate world was a transformative experience, allowing me to apply my skills, learn from industry experts, and contribute to meaningful projects. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of a dynamic organization that fosters innovation, collaboration, and personal development.
